Just a lil tidbit for the very few people who actually believe ANYTHING spouting out of monkeyboy's mouth and especially of how his supposed tax cuts will aide everyone

Sad thing is ... if it was King George the II getting a BJ from a disgusting slob of an intern the moronic masses would be cheering him on saying how she was doing it for her country and we shouldn't question our President's sexual practices. Doing so would be treason.

The thing that truly bothers me is that every article and CNN-HL news blurb I have seen emphasizes how little people in lower tax brackets get back out of this tax cut. Never once do they point out what those folks paid in taxes.

For instance I see a news blurb saying the lowest tax bracket will get back an estimated $300, a middle tax bracket will get back $1000, and a high income tax bracket may get as much as $2500 back.

Well, duh... The lowest income bracket probably only paid a couple of thousand dollars in taxes. If they have children it is likely they will get EIC - and get more money out of the IRS than they put in! $300 back on $2500 put in is a really good deal - that's twice the going prime interest rate!

The middle income family may have put around $19,500 into the tax system. $1000 back is significantly less proportionally than the lower income tax bracket. It's a nice gesture.

The upper income family may have put around $43,200 into the tax system. $2500 back is like a slap in their face because with the phase outs it is unlikely they'll ever really get that money.

So I agree with you wholeheartedly. These Federal tax cuts are unlikely to help anyone. And with States and Counties desperate for money - we will just see that money going to a different level of government.

The amounts aren't what galls me. It's how the sleeping drooling halfwits actually believe that the economy is doing better simply because the pResident Monkey Boy tells them it is. There is going to be a large number of suburban braintrusts who vote for King George II because of this so-called tax cut even though it'll mean that they're probably paying more taxes (like property taxes and sales taxes) elsewhere.

Between monkeyboy and the fearless leaders of New York State, we're likely to see next to no difference except probably for the worse. Even if these tax cuts were useful at all, NYS is going to suck it all up saying that now New Yorkers can afford to pay more to their beloved state.

The funny thing about economics is that much of it is perception driven. If everyone went out tomorrow and bought new washing machines, there would be a bump in durable goods sales. That perception issue is very well illustrated by stock market crashes. Its not that something serious happened, but that people think something is happening.

Frankly, I don't think there's been enough of a tax cut on the Federal level. Some cut backs on a lot of DEA and other Law enforcement agencies would net some hefty returns on the federal level that could result in more serious cutbacks. I'd also like to see something real done with SS, but thats still as much of a land mine for republicans as gun control is for democrats. Frankly, if I could opt out of SS tomorrow, I would. I'd love to put the $260 I pay to FICA per month into my 401K program or better yet into savings. I'd get more out of it in the short or long term.
