Thanks [livejournal.com profile] terminaldogma,

Any man who actually buys one of these may as well just wear a sign that says, "What little penis I actually possess is terminally flaccid."

I can understand [livejournal.com profile] montieth and his obsession with large military vehicles. He's a war memoribilia fanatic. That's why I don't tease him about his penis size when he bought a 5 ton truck. But if he bought one of these, I'd buy him a shirt that said "VAGINA" with an arrow pointing at his crotch.

There is no reason that rings true for anyone besides a rescue crew owning one of these.

Feh, two wheel drive, too much plastic and no PTO.

This starts at $4000 for a base truck and they want around $6000 to do the conversion. Though I can see it being lower. The big thing is cutting the frame, moving the braces (lots of drilling and welding) and then getting the front axle hangers off of a residue truck to mount the now single rear axle onto.

Features and Options are:
Front axle lockouts with Air shift front drive shaft engagement
front and rear PTO driven winches
hard top or canvas
Machine Gun Ring
2 ton cargo load off road with 4 tons on road.
15,000 lb towed load with air-brake engagement of the trailer

not 2wd, awd.
brochure is a PDF linked from that site. :)

yours is undeniably cooler, but i stil prefer the cxt. it seats 6 adults, can haul 6 tons, has a 5 speed autobox, does 500,000 miles before overhaul, and you can get a tipper bed and dvd player. i suspect, although i haven't checked, that it's faster, too. also, it's deeply offensive to all bleeding heart liberals. :)

What would you put in a bed that size that would weigh 4 ton's, let alone 6? Stone maybe, but it doesn't look like you could fit a car or even a small bobcat in that bed. and i don't know of many small cars that weigh 4 ton or more.

landscaping stuff, skidoos, or building supplies. or a fifth wheel for a big caravan. you couldn't get a car into it because of the height. it's the bed off an f-350, btw - the size of the truck makes it look much smaller.

their isn't enough room in the bed of 1 ton pickup to fit 6 tons of anything unless you are hulling lead or gold or something you might possibly put a 6 ton block of marble or some other stone in there but I'm not sure how big that would be. I can haul skidoos with my dakota. You couldn't put that much landscape stuff in that bed. you need an actual dump truck with a 5 foot tall bed to haul 6 tons of gravel, and you could bury that truck with 6 tons of mulch. Maybe bricks or paving stone if you stack it high enough and tie it down but i don't think so. If your going to use concrete then you get a mix truck. You could get 120 bags of concrete mix at 100 lbs a bag in there but you would need to load and unload it by hand from a raised bed w/o breaking them and mix it by hand which would take for ever. the bed is to high for a 5th wheel trailer because it needs to clear those rear tires, even if it wasn't your back to driving a tractor-trailer which makes the whole thing pointless. Even if the bed was big enough to be able to put say 6 tons of gravel in, or anything else, at that point you would need a class B CDL to drive it. and as for towing if you can't tow it with a standard 1 ton pickup then again you need a CDL and a special trailer. The only nice thing is the cab but you can get that sort of thing from Ford, GM, or Dodge and you can get it on a 5 ton heavy duty dump truck with a CAT engine and Alison tranny and doesn't require a CDL, it won't be an air ride cab but you only need an air ride cab for a semi tractor because it needs such a heavy duty suspension. The CXT is useless and the only people who could afford it and would actually buy it are the type of yuppie scum pricks who couldn't control it and wind up causing a Major accident. The MXT is the only one that would be worth the effort.
