They made a game of "The Dying Earth"? I mean, one that is actually based on the stories?
Because Gygax and Co. had used the rules of magic from Jack Vance's stories for the basis of D&D's magic system way back when. The whole having to rememorize the spells everyday, etc etc etc. Just like the majority of Gamma World was lifted from Andre Norton's "Starman's Son".
That's my "curse". I read the more obscure (on this side of the pond) stuff at a really early age. So I knew what was lifted from what when I started playing most of TSR's catalogue.
