WHY would this be the friggin HEADLINE on the education section of CNN? Someone please explain this to me?

http://www.cnn.com/2003/EDUCATION/12/10/sex.bracelet.ap/index.html

Ummm ... this is the first time I EVER heard them called that. They were always either gummi or jelly bracelets and were simply that, bracelets.

Then again, in my region the big thing was sextabs ( pop can tabs that you pulled off with the ring intact - or in some case with the whole mechanism )

In Australia they were that in the 90s maybe, but I don't think ever there 80s from what one person replying was saying (laughing at us for being "so behind"- don't even get me started). I know I've heard nothing about it till now, but it could have been some niche trend somewhere in middle America that no one heard about at the time, because, well, we didn't care. It now seems to be a midwest thing from what I've heard, which explains why I'd missed it (aside from wrong age group). Also, CNN may have pulled the 80s thing out of their collective ass- the bracelets were around then, so some reported decided the game must have been, regardless of the fact we JUST WORE THE BRACELETS.

I'll still wear mine anyway. And any fucker who tries to break one will get a broken jaw.
