Flea Market Finds

razorjakOkay - watching HGTV in the background while I finish up some homework before heading to work. They showed a segment about antique weaponry and some of the items spotlighted were flintlock pistols from the Ottoman and Russian Empires.
These asshats narrating the show go on to say that, to be safe, these pistols should have the barrels filled in with lead by a local gunsmith to make them nonfireable!
What the FUCK!?!?!?!
It's not like someone can accidentally fire a friggin flintlock! Not unless the owner is as stupid as these doddering fools and keeps it primed and packed. And even then ... Just CHRIST ON A POGOSTICK!!!! My brain is still reelign over this.
These octagenarian fucktards are supposed to be offering advice on how to keep these finds in their most valuable condition! How can they in good faith offer that friggin advice? They didn't suggest that sword collectors have the hilted welded into the scabbards!
I hate asshats like that.

not usually a show I watch but I was watching the show previously airing and didn't bother turning it off since I only had it on for background noise. The only reason it got my attention was the pretty antique swords ... then those two geriatric twits make the "suggestion" that pissed me off.
I've a good mind to try to find out the address to mail complaints to HGTV about this and start a campaign. But honestly I have more important things to do.
