Some jackass, still wet behind the ears, emailed me and stated in less than polite terms that I am nonpatriotic and should be ashamed that I talk ill about Shrubby McFuckstick and his puppetmasters and he wanted to know where I get off doing so.

This little ass was in primary school during the Gulf War and only remembers the jingoist propaganda afterwards.

That is one of the few things that can cause me to lose my cool. Some sniveling little young republican who's never worn a uniform, except maybe at JROTC before it became "too intence", having the gall to call me unpatriotic ... It just amazes me that some little fuck who's voice didn't even think about cracked until LONG after I left the service ... GAHHH

Over fifteen years ago, I swore an oath. That oath was to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Though circumstances beyond my control forced me to take off the uniform years before I had planned; that oath is still burned in my heart.

THAT is why I oppose the current administration. THAT is why I am doing everything in my power to make sure they are voted out this November.

You neocons who want to call me unpatriotic can come talk to me when you have more nuthair than I have service stripes.

I'm to the point where I hate both side, now....
And the overzealous supporters of either side.

Can't I just do a write-in and vote for Cthulu?
(Why settle for the lesser of evils?)

I hate both sides as well.

Actually, it's difficult to characterize them as separate sides.

That's part of my problem with the situation.

What a dimwit that person must be! Patriotism isn't about total support for any leader...its about your love for your country. Leftists can be patriotic, right-wingers too. I'd love to help you beat that guy down with a clue stick. Just because you don't fancy W doesn't make you any less of a patriot.

The whole "if you don't 100% agree with what you're told, then you're unpatriotic" BS pisses me off. Blind faith is a sin.

Now, keeping in mind that I'm typically a Republican and I did vote for Bush (and still don't regret it..., I say this:

Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I supported the war, but the reconstruction is pissing me off.
I'm not voting for anyone, but voting against what has been turned into a total cock-up.

I oppose the war simply because we were lied about what it was for REPEATEDLY.

I NEVER stopped supporting the troups. (- as is evidenced by the carepackages I sent out when I truly couldn't afford them -)

The reconstruction is going as I predicted it would. This pisses me off to no end. I wish this administration would prove me wrong just once.

I'm not voting FOR Kerry. I'm voting against an administration that I truly feel will become a dictatorship if the fuckstick is re(un)elected.

War evidence: I remember standing in a room in Ft. Bragg before going over, watching the whoel WMD crap with another Intell person...and both of us going "What a stupid PR tactic. This is gonna come back and bite them in the ass."
Just the first of many times we were right but no one listened to us.

Reconstruction: Never thought about it enough to try to predict it. Didn't care, to be honest.....my reasons for going weren't connected to it in the least, so had no interest.
What *does* hold my interest is the fact that I didn't meet a single civilian over there that didn't work for H.B.&R. in some way.....

Which leads to Pres. Vote point: I'm still debating it all, but if I vote for Kerry, it won't really be a "I'm actually voting against bush" thing. Like I said, W. is just a sock-puppet. I kinda new that the first go around, but figured he'd be a puppet for his father, which I had no problem with. But he's been a puppet for Daddy's profit-hungry friends, which I don't like. SO, it's not vot for Kerry or against Bush. It's a matter of voting against CHENEY.

I think people seem to forget that just because you don't agree with the war, you can still support our troops.

Personally, I would feel FAR more comfortable voting for Bush if he'd get a different VP. Im not too swift on Kerry and I also think he should have selected a different VP candidate. The VP's this year just plain SUCK!

I supported the war, but the reconstruction is pissing me off.

Sadly there are several "reconstruction" efforts going on in the world right now - and all of them appear to be major disasters.

I think this implies a certain reality needs to counterbalance some of the wistful dreaming of think tanks in DC and Brussels.

The last time someone questioned my patriotism to my face was at the club. The only reason he wasn't hospitalized was because he was the cousin of one of the bartenders AND other coworkers were there and freaked a bit when they saw me lose my "friendly face".

the time before that was on campus ... you may remember that lil incident where I wondered if the lil fuck would call the cops on me fr "assaulting" him.

Some idiot was actually stupid enough to try to "insult" me with one of the famous lines from Fherenheit 9/11

"Would you volunteer to send you son to die in Iraq?"

"My son is only 3, moron. But I *DID* volunteer to send myself.....what have *YOU* sacrificed for your beliefs?"

".....uhm....."

"Thought so. Now piss off."

Tru dat.

Man, hadn't even thought of that.
I'm looking for a little hat-pin sized OIF Vet pin. If it's nice enough, I'll ask the chief to let me wear it at work.

When they say that shit to me while trying to paint W as the devil and Clinton as a saint, I calmly reply "Well, you know old Clinton didn't sign Chelea up to go to Somalia, now did he?"

W isn't the devil ... if anything he's Faust.

Clinton wasn't a saint. But better him fucking a fat slob in the oval office than W's puppetmasters fucking Lady Liberty and the whole country.

Agreed. As someone once said...

"My country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right; when wrong, to be put right."

Which just about sums it up, for me.

The funny thing is that the very people who call you unpatriotic for hating bush are the same people who had "impeach clinton" bumper stickers...

Much better when they piss down their own leg from fear after you pin them to said wall. Which is what happened at campus last year.

AMEN! When I was in the marines, I was vehemently against King George I and the first gulf war, and said so many times. When people'd get pissed at me, I'd just say "My oath is to uphold the constitution, not the oil companies". That did not make me popular, but I didn't join for that.
