On the topic of age ...

My dad just floored us by announcing he was putting in notice for his retirement this weekend.
This may not surprise those who only go by age, since he was alive (albeit a young boy) during WWII. But those who do know him were shocked. I honestly don't know how he'll handle having that much free time.
(- I think that's why I feel so old around most people. I REMEMBER stuff about vietnam. My father was a boy during WWII and remembers the Korean War. My granfather's brother was in the first World War. That makes one feel old when dealing with a crowd that learned about the Gulf War in history class. -)

There's really only two types of people who came back from the gulf. The ones who boast and brag about how they were heroes etc etc etc ... and ... the ones who only begrudgingly talk about it when pressed. ANd even then hate giving details.
I think the most I've ever said about the desert is about betting on camel spider fights and how to make alcohol with the MRE kool-aid, fruit and black water jugs.
