Suicide Girls Burlesque show returns to Buffalo ...

And yet again the Continental is not hosting them. This time it's being done at Club Infinity.

They are missing out on a money maker yet again. I didn't go the last time it was in town. I wanted to but I had to work. I was told it wasn't worth the admission price. I also read bad reviews online. That's subjective though. Maybe I'll make solid plans this time to go.

Sorry to intrude..*waves*

But..

THEY ARE AWFUL!!! A group of us left early because we were bored out of our minds. Def not worth the money. (And I am not alone in that opnion)

Plus they are evil, snobby bitches...and not the good kind.

The ones who were touring last time they were in town were actually fairly cool. True, the show itself was still one step above amateur level in the performance. But they were pretty friendly all around.

Ugh...must be a "Hey you don't have a penis, I will be a bitch to you thing"

*shrug*

Or it could be that the performance/fetish troupe I was in were a bit territorial & we didn't really want them there.

Who knows...all I know is that their show was awful & they were not fun to deal with.

Ahhh artistic territorialism ...

My viewpoint is a bit more mercenary in outlook. I want the shows that will fill a club to be playing MY club. I don't want them going to another place.

The last time they were in town, the show sold out in less than 20 minutes and well over a hundred were turned away. This at a venue that truly sucked. The stage was barely knee high. The sound system and acoustics were horrid. HELL! There wasn't even a proper bar. The beerwenches were pulling brews out of plastic coolers.

Interesting. Sounds like a scary venue.

From a promoters standpoint, I can see what you are saying. I have worked with/booked people I would rather tie to a rocket and send into orbit. It is all about the profit/revenue at the end of the day. *sigh*

Ok fine...artistic territorialism. =P

But still...blech...they sucked.

=)

Heh, the more I work with people like Fuckstick McBumblefuck. The more I think perhaps I SHOULD go into the promoting business. Not because I have shown a talent in it like Siobhan and the rest of LD50. But because I could NEVER be as bad as our club promoter.

*Yawn*

Pass. Heard the stories. Whoop-dee-freaking-do. Anyone can dress up and label themselves "burlesque".

Let Club Infinity have em. Hey. They let Jordan Knight play there! So, it's right up their ally :)

I long ago stopped caring whether or not it was a show I wanted to see. What matters to me is having shows where people will FUCKING SHOW UP. So I'd rather have the SG "burlesque" show here since they had to turn back WELL over a hundred people the last time the played.

Buffalo in general is full of skinflints. And the so-called "regulars" of the Cont are the worst ones. They'd friggin complain about a two dollar cover to see Peter Fucking Murphy anally mastering Siouxsie on stage.

That's part of the reason we get shows that people complain "don't belong at the Cont". We get them because people actually SHOW UP for those shows. It's like trying to bleed a stone to get the goths to actually fork out the money for a show at the Cont. They'd rather drive to Rochester or Cleveland than actually give the club show money.

Sorry for blowing up sweety ... but it's a touchy subject with me ... we've had so many shows that should have sold out get cancelled because pre-sale have been nonexistant and past history shows that we don't make up for it at the door.

No, the SG squad aren't a classic burlesque show. I really don't give a damn. They draw a crowd that drinks. And that is what we need to keep the place open.

Best. Reply. Ever.

And so very, very true. But hey! Chin up! I may be there this weekend! And then you can hug and squeeze me, and get some of that frustration out.
