A soda pop question to lighten the mood

Okay, Coca Cola came out with a counterpart to Squirt back around the saem time as they brought out Surge to combat Mt Dew.

Everyone remembers SURGE. No one remembers the other one. HELP?

To refresh your memory. It had ads wich geared more towards saying it assassinated thirst.

Hmmm seems it just changed names.

It's now marketed as Fanta Citrus.

Interesting side note to that story - Surge has been reborn as Vault.

Not really ... The taste is different.(*) The colour is different.(**) And Vault actually has more caffeine than Surge did.(***)

One of the urban legends regarding Surge being pulled from the market claims it was because it had TOO MUCH caffeine in the formula. Which is ridiculous since it had less than Mountain Dew. Surge had about 3-4 less mg of caffeine per 12oz than Mt Dew did.

* Just my opinion. Many think it's the same taste. but I do taste a subtle difference. Then again, my tongue can tell the difference between saccharin, aspartame, sucralose and neotame.

** Surge was almost chartreuse. Vault is piss yellow.

*** about 20mg per 12 oz more than Surge.
