A cadre of thorny jointed, razor winged pixies decided to appear in my belly and try to push a coil of my intestines out through my navel.

The doctor seeing me in the ER was a bit ... stunned at the way I described it. I don't know if it was because of WHAT I said, or that I was able to come up with such a flowery way of saying what level of pain I was in.

Then I had to apologize to her because I bruised her wrist from gripping it so hard as she was trying to push it back in ... Seriously, being shot hurt less.

Umbilical hernia ... I see the surgeon this afternoon to figure out when I'm getting cut open.

"If It wasn't for the fact we saw you tuesday night; I'd say you didn't have a hernia."

Seems when she popped it in; the inflammation actually closed things up! The surgeon has seen things like that happen. But they usually still LOOK like hernias 48 hours afterwards.

He wants to wait a week before we start talking surgery.
