I honestly wish I was working today.
I'd not be drinking while remembering people I'll never see again.

I bowed out quietly after a brief time at the American Legion's Veteran's Day dinner this weekend. It makes me a little uneasy when people thank me for wearing the uniform for the years I did.

Especially when there are a plethora of kids who are coming back a LOT MORE screwed up physically and emotionally and aren't getting the help they need due to Bushco's middle eastern meatgrinder.

Anyways, cheers to those who served long before me and those who are currently getting raped by Uncle Sam.

Decided not to sit on my ass and drink all day. So I sobered up a bit and went to the laundromat.

I was wearing one of my old Club Diablo SECURITY shirts since the only time I wear them anymore is around the house or to do laundry. I'm not one of the jackasses who would go out clubbing wearing one.

This gent in his late 30s approached me and did the whole ... " Let me guess. You work in security? "

Laughingly I told him, " Up until last week I did. But this is just a shirt from one of the clubs I have worked at over the last ten years or so. Nowadays it's simply the perfect "laundry day shirt". "

He proceeded to ask me a few questions about why I didn't work at the casino anymore, yada yada yada.

When I basically told him that it was a private matter between the management and myself ... and possibly the board of directors; he mentioned something about he'll find out about it anyway when it comes before the board since he's the new General Manager!

An hour later I get a call from the Security Director's assistant and asked if I was available to come in for a meeting tomorrow at 1300.

And people wonder why I have the WHEEL tattooed on my forearm?
