Well seems there is friction in the team. Albeit extremely one-sided friction.
One of the people on my shift is not happy with me and does everything possible to make me look bad. I just thought it was my paranoia kicking in again. Seems not, as THREE people on shift last night asked me whether I had noticed what was going on. One of them went so far as to say ... "When OTHERS notice it; it's become a problem that needs to be addressed."
Personally, I don't give a damn what the person thinks of me and honestly usually LAUGH when responding to the barbs this person uses on me over the radio. It's hard not to simply confront the person and say, "Look, once you've survived HALF the shit I have, THEN maybe what you try to pull will make me do anything other than chuckle."
Maybe it's because I've only been at the Casino for six months and they're already making me go through management training courses? Yeah, you read that right. Making me go. It wasn't a "Hey, we're offering these to people and hoping all the tribal members will attend who haven't yet." It was, "You're attending these classes/seminars. We'll work around your schedule." Um, thanks?
On the lighter side, my quarterly review actually had this as one of the supervisor comments:
" ... has a quirky sense of humour which he is not afraid to use. This has provided amusement for the department and makes shifts go by smoothly for all. "
And yes, upon reading that, I did spout out with "OH! So I am some clown for your amusement?" in my best Goodfellas voice.
