Okay, that was a blast last night!

There were some really great costumes on the kiddies who came out for trick-or-treating on our street. I'm noticing more and more handmade or impromptu costumes as opposed to storebought. This, my friends, is definately a good thing.

The only decorations I put up this year were (window treatments) the plasma ball skull that Moo gave me for a going away present, the flaming skull with the light up eyes, my black silhouette skull and jack-o-lantern and on the lawn I set out a run of flashing eyes to light up the walkway leading to the door. That was nothing compared to the neighbors two houses down the block!

One of the men who live in the house made a negative video loop of himself saying all sorts of creepy phrases like, "I got some candy for ya.", "BOO!" and "This is the ghost of the haunted portrait. Do you like my picture frame?" The household then put a tv/vcr up on a table and decorated it to look like a spooky portrait frame. A motion sensor would trip the loop to start playing for a few moments. It was brilliant!

I actually had to wave people over at first to let them know that YES, there were treats at the house this year. You see, the house has been vacant for awhile. And even when my great aunt DID live here, she never celebrated Halloween. She would make sure to have her shudders drawn and the blinds pulled down tight. It makes me wonder what she thought of my decorations.

Oh, word of advice. If you're the only one living in an old house that has a cellar door ala "The Evil Dead" and far too many doors; It's probably not a good idea to watch horror movies until you're really comfortable in the place.

I watched "DEAD BIRDS" the other night. It's not a really scary movie. But it has some nice creepy imagery. During one of the scenes in the cornfield, my cat jumped up onto the back of the chair.

I'm glad no one heard the squeak I made which was akin to a mouse being trod upon.
