Now isn't this the fucking truth?

I love Ornery Boy.

My review for Dawn of the Dead will come after dinner.

One of the previews we saw before "Dawn of the Dead" was the new Will Smith movie ... " I, Robot ".

WHY!?! WHY!?! WHY!?!
For the love of GOD and all that is HOLY ... WHY!?!?!?

HOLY FUCK! That sudden shift in the earth's gravity is caused by Isaac Asimov's corpse spinning itself to dust and shadow.

After seeing the trailer I agree with the first review posted on IMDB ...

It's like taking the book "To Kill A Mocking Bird" and making the film a comedy about a black gangster rapper accused of knocking up a white girl and his culturally indifferent white lawyer Atticus Finch, starring Martin Lawrence and Owen Wilson.

So we went to see 28 Dawns Later ... err ... Dawn of the 28 Dead ... well you know.

I can pretty much sum up my review of *cough* Dawn of the Dead in two setences.

The British did it better in 2002. This was pretty much the American version of 28 Days Later made for the 30 second attention span of the average MTV viewer.

It won't be in my video collection but it was fun. Of course, the main reason I enjoyed it was because I had expected to be thoroughly disgusted with the whole thing after seeing the trailers. When did being dead mean you suddenly become an olympic athlete?

Once I was able to shut off the part of my brain that was screaming "This isn't Dawn of the Dead" then I was able to get into the thing. There were quite a few cameos in the flick. Most notably for us Continental crowd was Tom Savini's role as the Sheriff being interviewed.[1] ( Hi Cliff. We love you. )

The characters meshed believably. No one really did any "so stupid that only horror movie characters would do it" except Mekhi Phifer's character. And really what he did was something that could ALMOST be believable when someone snaps utterly under those circumstances.

Though I want to know which one of them was the MacGyver. I want one of those trucks. :-)

Stay through the credits. Trust me on this.

[1] One of the LONG TIME regulars of the Cont (ie was going there in the 70s I believe) bears a striking resemblance to Mr. Savini.
