If you are between 18-35 and you did not vote even though you were more than capable of doing so, go directly to your local military recruitment station.

If all you blumbering asshats who couldn't be bothered to vote were inducted into military duty, we'd have no shortage on sniper bait.

You are all worse than the twits who voted for the smirking chimp. At least they voted. At least they made the effort to do something. I don't have to respect their intelligence or morals. But DAMNIT they acted! You callow sots aren't even worth hating.

By not voting, you've shown that you do not care what happens. Thus, you shouldn't care when you're thrown into a uniform, handed a rifle and told to go kill that village of brown children.

(*Again, this only goes out to those who were ABLE to vote but didn't. There are many in this country who care about what happens to her but are not able to vote. More's the pity.)

Don't get me started on that book....I still say that's the best damned version of a democratic republic I've seen yet.

Starship Troopers (or, "how fascism and democracy learned to play nice toegether")

Check your definition Gru. I don't think it was ever clear that the government in the book was in fact fascism. It didn't have a dictatorial system that was evident. There was a great emphasis on social responsibility, but I don't recall a strict sense of socioeconomic control, Rico's family was Phillipino, yet they had a large family business.

Only if it's the book and not the movie. Yes, I know it's hollywood. I know they have to show as much skin as possible. But god damn! How can that form fitting vest be anything like the kickass armour in the book.

Heh, do I show my geek points by admitting to owning the RPG that came out ages ago? No, not the one that Mongoose Publishing put out this year.

Don't you just love the Liberal interpretation of a great book. 90210 in space.

Perhaps the old Box Set game with the pic of the Old Style Power Armor descending from space?

You're the first person outside my OLD gaming group who's ever seen/heard of it! I'm impressed.

The game was horrid. But what game wasn't back then? I used to buy them all. Runequest (- old school version when it was based on another world where you could actualy MINE bronze as it was the bones of the gods. -), Stormbringer, Villians & Vigilantes, Boot Hill, Tunnels & Trolls, Metamorphis Alpha (- does that show how far back I go in gaming? -) etc etc etc ...

Don't forget Gamma World and Star Frontiers. I never played either of those, but I saw them.

Gamma World was what Metamorphis Alpha mutated into. (- Metamorphis Alpha was based upon a HUGE generation ship centuries after a radiation accident destroyed a lot of records and mutated most of the crew, lab animals, vegetation ... etc etc etc. Most had long forgotten that they were on a starship. -)

Star Frontiers was little more than Traveller Lite. So much so that, less than a year after it's initial release, it was revised into Alpha Dawn ( the rpg ) and Knight Hawks ( Starship battles ).

WOW, I am a gamer geek. Funny thing is, I've been gaming for about a quarter century, and never found the time nor need to go to Gen Con.
