Do you know it's been about 12 years since I have heard any of the third party options for President getting airtime of any sort in a general way? Perot was one of them, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson. I think this time around I'd vote for the Rev. I don't agree with all of his stands, but maybe he'd be less willing to throw more American lives away on policing people who don't need us trying to wipe their asses with barbed wire.
We are one of the most hated countries in the world for choosing to step in without being invited. What the hell good is the UN (that =we= helped set up!) if we don't let THEM call on forces to help out when invited? Why should WE waste all that money going where we aren't wanted or needed? Don't we have more pressing issues here at home?
Still... by voting for a third party, ANY third party, we give someone who isn't an R or a D a chance to get on the ballots for the next election. Not sure at the moment if I'll use Pin the Tail on the Donkey to choose my third party yet or not... but grimly looking forward to this year's farce.
God have pity on us. I don't think anyone else in the world will.
I want a GOOD third party to vote for!
