Idiot perhaps, but not a war criminal. The whole war criminal argument is so full of holes that its doesn't even hold rocks let alone water. Iraq agreed to the terms of a cease fire for inspections. However they obfuscated, evaded and obstructed the process for 12 years. That in and of itself allowed the US to resume the action that was suspended by the cease fire back during Gulf War 1. Specifically SCR 687.
Put it into perspective, you do security at your club. If some guy came in, made trouble and was given conditions for coming back (and not going to jail) but kept screwing with you or some of the other club staff, would you keep taking his crap or would you finally kick his ass out of the club and into a waiting police car?
I see it more along the lines of going into a club that I am not employed. I then begin shitting on the bar; smashing up the alcohol; raping the bartender and putting a bullet in the skull of the DJ. All the while defending it by stating that the manager is a threat to my club.
One of the original "reasons" for war was because Iraq refusal to abide by UN Sanctions. Of course we then said the UN was obsolete and irrelavent because they didn't give us a blank check to go ahead and invade Iraq. If the UN doesn't matter, how can we use another country's disregard for their rules as a reason to go to war with them?
When a few of the sleeping sheep that comprise the masses of our population started to get the idea that doesn't make sense, Bush switched gears and claimed there was ties between bin Laden and Hussein. However, Bush has more ties to bin Laden and his family than Hussein ever did. The onyl thing those two have in common is their hatred for us and the fact we armed both of them.
Then they switched gears yet again started emphasizing the nuclear capabilities of Iraq and used a college students paper from the early 90s as their "proof" of current events in the country.
Seems to me that all the backpedaling and changing of stories indicates that Bush never had just cause and has done little but come up with excuses to try to justify the unlawful invasion.
Bush has put this country in an unlawful war and such is personally responsible for the deaths of over 500 US soldiers and thousands of Iraqis. That makes him a war criminal.
