Speaking as someone who once did contract work for Comcast, I can't blame you for feeling that way, but...
Issues like this are usually the result of human error (or employee malice) on an isolated level. I think it's pretty unfair, especially in a litigous society, for people to hurl around lawsuits over things that they themselves have probably done a dozen times over in their lives that resulted in a lot of problems for people.
The appropriate response from Comcast is direct apologies and compensation (which I doubt will come, and then one could talk lawsuit). They are supposed to prevent that sort of thing from happening and when it doesn't, they need to take full and appropriate responsibility.
