I tried out for poms once (our HS's answer to a dance squad kinda...performed with the band, far more respected than our cheerleaders), but I just couldn't smile that damned much. I made a much better flags person, 'cause we were supposed to look serious and didn't have to know all the fancy french dance terms. Plus, hey - twirling a 6' fiberglass pole is fun! I should take up quarterstaff...
