I'm hesitantly optimistic about the next four years. Obama has a LOT of work ahead of him to fix what the Smirking Chimp and his zookeepers broke. And the right will not give him any slack. If he doesn't hit the ground running; he's going to be eaten alive.

That is if some rightwing and/or racist fucktard doesn't succeed in pulling an Oswald before January 20th.

I hate to think that we've not come far enough that something like that isn't a possibility. But we all know that there are some wannabe KKK who are loading rifles as we speak.

PROPOSAL 2 passed! Your lies and misdirections didn't work! Proposal 2 passed you hypocritical fucks!

For those of you not in Michigan; Proposal 2 on our ballot was a proposal to amend the state constitution to allow Michigan researchers to use embryos left over from fertility treatments to create embryonic stem-cell lines for disease research.

MiCAUSE and other antichoice fuckwits spent millions on TV ads in an attempt to scare people from voting in favor of Proposal 2 ... going everywhere from stating it will raise taxes ... to claiming it will lead to cloning.

If Proposal 2 failed, I was going to start praying nightly for EVERYONE even remotely involved with MiCAUSE. That prayer would be a wish for each and every one of them to become afflicted with a disease that may be cured once stem cell research wasn't ham-stringed.

But it passed. So now I will just gleefully smile and give the idiots a big "fuck you". :-)
