Only those who play MMORPG will understand this one.
One of the youngest members in my linkshell (don't know what you EQ geeks and WoW wackjobs call your playing groups) just went on a long tirade about why we shouldn't "be mean" to the "chinese gillsellers"(1)
Her reasoning is that the majority of them are from poor countries and they are just trying to find a way to make a living.
Gods, was I that naive at 15?
(1) The term given to the people who create characters simply for the purpose of amassing obscene amounts of the in-game currency in order to sell such currency for real money. It's against the TOS of almost all the games but it's a major problem for the controllers of the games to try to control. The main problem with these types is they drive the price of certain in-game items to ridiculous amounts. I've seen some items that once cost 200K go up to costing over 1-2 million.
