(no subject)
Shortly after 12pm yesterday we experienced a power "failure". This "failure" was due to the local electrical disservice, Niagara Mohawk, supposedly never receiving a service request before I moved into the apartment. No notice. No nothing. They just sent a tech to come and disengage power to the floor.
We finally have power back after THREE faxes of the requested information, TWELVE phonecalls later & a FULL 24 HOURS without power while the stuff in the fridge spoils.
This is why they don't have an office you can physically go to in order to complain and/or make payments. Really makes me want to seek out the home addresses of the people who have made the company policies for Niagara Mohawk and lodge my complaints in my own uncle sam trained way.
The ONLY helpful person in the whole process was the tech who had to cut the power and who came to reinstate it. The first words out of his mouth this morning was, "I can't believe they made you go an entire day before sending me back out."
Friggin monopolies with redundant bureacracies ALL need to be strafed from the face of the earth and the glass lakes left of their offices remaining in place as monuments warning others who may wish to try this in the future.
Of course when they try to bill me for the whole of June and first 12 days of July I am going to refuse to pay since according to them I never requested the service. Yes, I will take this to court as well. Just out of principle. (- time to go by a generator -)
