The students of the school in Richland County, WI where the Commander in Thief appeared yesterday were threatened that any student wearing ANY pro Kerry or anti Bush items during his visit would be expelled.

Surprise surprise ... Rachel Schultz, the superintendent of Richland Center School District in Wisconsin (where students were told not to wear any Kerry regalia during Bush's visit), is married to Dale Schultz, Republican candidate for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District in Wisconsin.

At least we can be thankful that each and every student wasn't forced to sign a loyalty oath, right?

Bush's handlers don't want him seeing just how many can't stand him. They want him to actually believe the lies they feed him daily. In his reality, everyone is republican except for small pockets of resistance.

EDIT: turns out the same school district 'outlawed' pro Kerry items when the candidate made a visit earlier in the campaign. I've not found out whether any Bush fans were scolded for wearing Repugnican items.

Come on Jak, it doesn't need to be some grand conspiracy. More like, the school superintendent is on a power trip like so many school superintendents that consider photo's of firearms as being firearms, plastic knifes the same as 4" bowie knives, and certain basic forms of religious expression to be disruptive.

I suspect that if Bush can stand to be in the room with the poodle three times in a row, he can stand a few students that wear a 'Lectroids for President shirt.

It's only a conspiracy if even the slightest attempt is made for it to be a secret. This type of thing has been SOP throughout the campaign, every effort has been made to be sure that protesters are kept out of eyesight of the chimp.

The same cannot be said of the democratic campaign. Protesters supporting Bush have not been threatened with the same zealous furvor. And don't try to use the example of that professional victim who claimed his daughter's Bush sign was ripped apart by an evil Kerry supporter. It's all but been DNA proven that the "supporter" was his own son.

Bush campaign offices have been occupied, shot at and ransacked by Kerry supporters....has the same happened to a Kerry office?

I doubt it, since Kerry didn't throw the country into a war it never should have started, doesn't personally profit from oil and the Bin Laden family, sunk the U.S. into a record deficit AND a record unemployment rate and can actually form words without straining and drooling.

I would imagine that's why Kerry's offices haven't been attacked.

I could be wrong.

So you're saying that the rule of law doesn't apply if you're a Kerry supporter and dislike the current hawkish doctrine advocated by the Bush administration?

Jeeze, I'm watching a report right now where Kerry is still defending his point that the President is at fault for the missing HE outside of Bagdad....Good to know Kerry will think that anything that a Col does wrong (including not getting there sooner) will ultimately rest on the shoulders of the president. So, when some butter bar screws up at a check point does that mean Kerry's going to stand up and say he's sorry? Or is he going to screw the military over again for his own benefit.

I didn't say anything about the rule of law. You asked if the same had happened to a Kerry office and I replied with a few reason why it probably hadn't.

DNC supporters disagree with the administration's foreign policy, so they trespass, burgle or discharge weapons. Ergo, they disagree with the administration, so they feel it's in their right to violate the law.

Lets hope that's the exception and not the rule for DNC supporters. The whispers of substantial voter fraud in Ohio and Florida (among other locations) is certainly cause for concern. We'll have to wait and see of course. But I'll find it interesting if the people most interested in equality do what they can to disenfranchise those who disagree with them.

IMHO the DNC (of the past decade) has never been particularly interested in equality any more than Republicans are interested in Hispanic rights. They are interested in easy to persuade people who can vote, and under that self-serving philanthropy they will sell out anyone or sell to anyone...

And Ohio and Florida aren't the only places where the usual chicanerary are at work. I think we'll see "battleground" states get more attention than usual again this election, but in the last election a lot of fraud in other states and cities got swept under the carpet.

My understanding is many of the Bush rallies have been carefully screened and managed in this way.

I find it disturbing at best.

Then again, I've heard rumours that Kerry has also stacked the deck in his favour whenever he is in public.

The whole darn system down to the media coverage is rigged. I want a third party to vote for!

I want a GOOD third party to vote for!

From: [identity profile] perrrfect-angel.livejournal.com
Do you know it's been about 12 years since I have heard any of the third party options for President getting airtime of any sort in a general way? Perot was one of them, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson. I think this time around I'd vote for the Rev. I don't agree with all of his stands, but maybe he'd be less willing to throw more American lives away on policing people who don't need us trying to wipe their asses with barbed wire.

We are one of the most hated countries in the world for choosing to step in without being invited. What the hell good is the UN (that =we= helped set up!) if we don't let THEM call on forces to help out when invited? Why should WE waste all that money going where we aren't wanted or needed? Don't we have more pressing issues here at home?

Still... by voting for a third party, ANY third party, we give someone who isn't an R or a D a chance to get on the ballots for the next election. Not sure at the moment if I'll use Pin the Tail on the Donkey to choose my third party yet or not... but grimly looking forward to this year's farce.

God have pity on us. I don't think anyone else in the world will.

I'm likely to vote Libertarian this election. Rev. Jesse Jackson is one of those really interesting people who appear to have gotten their political career started by men in black suits who needed an outspoken opposition candidate.

But in any case, I can definitely say I am disturbed by two things this year:

1) The notion that voting for anyone other than Kerry and Bush is wrong or wasted or akin to supporting Bush or Kerry. People should vote for who they want to be president and anyone nay saying voting for your best candidate should be looked at suspiciously.

2) The notion that Republicans and Democrats are representative of Americans and their body of opinions. It is very clear that the two primary parties have converged on almost all topics - and as a result it is also clear neither of them represents the center leaning majority of Americans. This election proves that Republicans and Democrats are now the puppets of vocal minorities who seek to reshape America to suit their fanatical means.
