One more night to go ...
250 people - give or take. It was almost like the 'old days'. A lot of faces I've not seen in ages.
Some came all the way from Ohio and Pennsylvania for the "last weekend". Those were a welcome sight to see.
There were also a lot of ghouls who still live in the city (not even the suburbs) who came out last night but haven't been to the Cont in (literally) years. Thankfully, those people were a bit intelligent in the fact they didn't bitch to me about the club closing.
The bands were fair to okay, and as is usually the case in this city, drew more than bands with 5 times their talent. But, what can you do? This business revolves around who can draw people into the place and keep them drinking. In that regard, they did phenominal.
Only real incident involved the second band, Enemies Only. Guys, like I said before. Keep your fucktard keyboardist in check. If he's tweaking and rolling before a set, he doesn't need to be drinking. He's going to be the death of you all.
Gods, if one more person comes up to me and DRUNKENLY tries to discuss in detail with me about just how we could make the club work; I'm going to fucking strangle them. The next asshole that says we either need to make the drinks cheaper or totally do away with cover ....
Though I was thoroughly impressed with how many people put money in the tip jar at the door last night.
