1 1/2 pounds lighter

For reasons of my own, tonight I joined the ranks of the cleanshaven scalp. The warrior's knot I've spent the last four years growing is now resting in a bag in the bathroom.

Whether or not I shall begin to regrow it eventually is anyone's guess.

I don't know how I feel about this as yet. but not really anything I can do about it now.

One of us. One of us.

You know ... with as many people who use that line. I wonder how many of them know where the line is from.

* Wish I could find a copy of it on DVD. I think my threadbare copy is going to give up the ghost soon. *

well the phrase also got some use in the animated Clerks series. (the very last episode I do believe). Which may be how more people heard the phrase...

[identity profile] razorjak.livejournal.com 2003-11-05 05:28 am (UTC)(link)

Hehehe ... okay sweety, Are you going to outgeek me by actually knowing the line's origin? Come on. Give a guess.

And yes, I know the pinhead twins use it in the very last episode of the Clerks animated series. But it's been used amongst our extended circle of associates before then. Which is why I'm wondering how many know the origin of it. :-)

Todd Browning was a genius. :-)

ab-so-smurfly.

I first saw this film years ago on one of those Sunday Afternoon Movie thingies. The scene with the loving cup has stayed with me because I found it both disturbing and endearing at the same time. Then again, I'm a bit of a geek/freak.

[identity profile] nimrodiel.livejournal.com 2003-11-05 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
I was beaten to it.

And besides, how can I outgeek you? You were a geek looooong before I.

lol

Also, It has yet to be released onto DVD. Acording to Amazon they don't even have a release date for it. But the price will be $21.21...

Freaks. A fine film.

If your copy of Freaks is about to bite the dust, I can dub you a new one.

So, how was your total score shopping the day after Halloween? I didn't spend as much as I usually do...nothing spectacular to purchase this year. You were the only person I know who I saw out that morning.

[identity profile] razorjak.livejournal.com 2003-11-07 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
*whistles* ummm only about 75-80 bucks totl for Halloween goodness there. But I hit another a few days later and picked up one of the pumpkin serving plates and the haunted house cookie jar for 75% off

I'm envious...I didn't find that much this year.

[identity profile] baronesskimchi.livejournal.com 2003-11-07 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I went there last night and bought the same haunted house cookie jar! I bought a bunch of other stuff too since it was 75% off. It's nice to see someone else who is addicted to collecting. It's really the only vice I have left...that and chocolate.

It seems like every few years I start another collection. I collect Day of the Dead, TNBC, Halloween (mostly vintage looking), spooky handmade evil dolls, Death/Reaper stuff, skeletons, 3 ft tall dolls, books/CDs/DVDs/games, vintage clothes...there's probably more but this list is so long I'm sort of embarrassed. My goal is to have a home resembling the Addams Family. That was my favorite show as a child.

Only thing I really actively collect anymore is LEGO. Although I do have a big collection of Pokemon Pez and Pocket Dragons as well.

I do the after Halloween shopping because I like the look of the stuff.

Do you collect the loose Lego blocks, the sets or BIONICLE? I know someone who has loose blocks all separated and boxed by color from when they used to collect them. I have the first set of Bionicle. I thought they were awesome when they first came out but when they made the second set I realized that this was a toy that they would make more sets of so I stopped. I have boxes of unopened action figures from when I collected those so I didn't need another collection.
I have been slowly trying to weed out my toys...just keeping the beloved ones.

D - All of the above.

But most of my toy funds go towards Bionicle (- I have everything from the first wave except the Nui Jaga (scorpions) the Manas (the remote control crabs) and some of the kanohi ( mostly the noble maks of the Torunga ) ... Ive all the bohrok stuff except for some of the krana ... I've all the rahkshi and both Matuka and Takanuva but not the two other sets yet and still missing a LOT of the kraata )

I also have doubles of some of the sets as I use them to make MOCs.

What I am really looking for is extras of the Torunga ( the smaller sets from the frist series ) and any of the McDonald toys from 2001.

I fell in love with BIONICLE ... it mixs polynesian theme stuff, giant robots and LEGO ... shoot me stuff me mount me
