... A motorcycle with a biodiesel engine ...

I don't care that it's righteously fugly. The only thing that doesn't make me want it is because it's not styled to a cruiser. I can't ride in the "crush your sac against the gastank" position of sport bikes.

A biodiesel bike makes so much sense. After all, if the weather is cold enough to gel the fuel; you'd not be on the bike to begin with.

EDIT ... I was a dumbass and forgot the link:

The winter thing isn't an issue. You wouldn't be riding it in temperatures that would gel the fuel.

I represent that remark...

'dru, I'm much more northerly than you are at the moment, and I bike 12 months a year... Even when it drops to -40. The only issue I run into is that the grease in the crank case gels a bit while I'm at work, so the ride home is a bit more difficult.

It is definitely possible to use a lot of the more energy-efficient modes of transportation in winter in the North, you just really need the right clothing for a number of them.

With biodiesel, the fuel gelling issue would be a big one up here, though.

He lives a bit farther north than Alaska. He's one of my Canuckistani friends. He's giving temps in Celsius.
