GLEEE!!!

Someone is reopening the Vogue theater here in town! No more driving 40 miles just to see a movie!

The person who is reopening it made a deal with the old owners and is leasing it for a year before buying it. This year will decide whether he keeps it open or not. YAY for small town theater reopening!!!

Of course, it's a theater, not a Multiplex. So there will only be two movies to choose from at a time. But it's a theater. An olde tyme theater!

It opens tomorrow ... which means I won't get to go to a movie there until monday. BUT I get to go to movies again!!! :-)

Bonus, I'll be seeing PotC: DMC for $4 :-)

$4 matinees before 6pm ... $5 dollars after 6pm

GLEE :-)

I'll be making a point of going every week just to show how much I am happy it's open again! And I won't bitch about whatever they charge for concessions since I know that is where the profit margin for a theater lies.

When you were here, did you ever make it up to the old school theatre at Coolum.. the one with canvass seats that cost all of about $2 to get into?

ah not to worry... i think they eventually bulldozed it in favour of some schmicko 5 star faux resort. the type that seems to be dominating the coast landscape now... the way you described your local theatre brought the memories of scratchy canvass seats, jaffas and choc tops back..

From what a few people have told me, I'd weep if I saw what Mooloolaba looks like now.

You know what's sad? I remember places. I remember doing things. I remember the faces.

But I could be arsed to remember names of people!

Almost EVERYONE had bad hairdos then.

I can't remember. Which girl are you talking about? I'd have to find the book.

SQUEE! I'm hoping you'll love it. Very, very good for a sequel, good twists, interesting new characters... Captain Jack wasn't the same. I won't spoil things for you, but as with the first movie, there is a few seconds of story after every last credit has rolled.

Enjoy!
