Okay ... time for the big move.

Any of my Canadian friends with a Master's degree want to marry me and find me a job up there?

I miss the qualifying point cut-off by 15 points ...

( looking into whether or not VA college fund can be used in Canada AND whether or not I can work in Canada legally using my tribal affiliation )

Depends on the tribe. Nikki can, since his tribe is based on both sides of the border, and recognized by the US and Candian governments. If your tribe is gov't acknoweleged and has a presence in Canada I'd imagine it would be the same. However, if they're located solely in the US, you might be SOL.

If you can find a Canadian willing to marry you, they don't need any qualifications except their citizenship.

The really, really important part is to live outside of Canada until you get your landed status.

Don't move here until you've been approved 'cos it takes about 6 months if you live outside Canada during the application process but about a year if you've moved here already.

Apparently CIC also recognise same sex unions now as well...

Unfortunately I'm still married, and we're not going to divorce until Maya has got her British citizenship or she decides that she isn't going to move there.

Sorry mate.

The legality of polyamory hasn't been tested undet the Charter yet.

But based on the way the Canadian Supreme Courts rulings have been going I'm sure it would be legit.

And a citizen.

You're Ojibwe aren't you? You might be able to immigrate based on that then, since we have Ojibwe here.

Ottawa actually[1] ... though my band accepts all three of the nation;s tribes ( Ojibwe(chippewa) Ottawa and Potewatami )

[1] - My birthmom keeps teasing me that I somehow got Ojibwe in me somehow since "the Ottawa aren't gamblers, we're traders."

I have family in canadia-land, my family here just has never claimed dual-citizenship solely b/c (my mothers words) "why the hell would we want to".
