that was actually very interesting. strange. i live in the south, and i've actually almost never heard anyone describe anything other than Coca Cola as 'coke.' (aside from cocaine.) if they did, i'd probably laugh at them for being retarded.

Where I live...it's just "coke"...pepsi, mountain dew, dr pepper, fresca, coca cola, sprite, 7up.....it's all COKE! :)

The state I live in (commonly known as the United Kingdom) was missing!

Over here if you call a soft drink "soda" most people look at you blankly.

Soft drinks are generally either referred to as soft drinks or as (fizzy) pop, although you might hear "Do you want a coke or something?" occasionally.
