To those I had the pleasure (and sometimes extreme displeasure) of serving with.
To those who wore the uniform proudly before me.
To those who wore it after me.
I give a toast to you. Your reasons for serving don't matter to me in the slightest; as long as you did your uniform proud. That is all that matters. I consider you all family.
For those of you who didn't serve ... if you can find it in your heart (and busy schedules) ... find a way to a VA hospital and visit a patient there. You've no idea how much a visit from anyone, even a complete stranger, can help lift the spirits of a warrior who may have no family left.
