I think some people are just severely impaired in self-entertainment. I'm put in mind of the crank calls I occasionally get where the person calls me, then pretends to be on a bad phone (very quiet) and then supposedly moves around the house looking for a better line while I hang on the line like a sucker. At least I only got suckered by that one twice. I just can't grok how that would be funny to anyone.
