Silly people, don't you know that paying off your credit card debt makes corporations cry? Don't you know being financially responsible helps the terrorists?

How dare you? How dare you even think of trying to break the chain that makes you little more than an indentured servant?

Why do you hate America?

Hrm... I wonder if my company does that. Never heard of it...

Not all do. Not every corporation sucks on the pustulant phallus of Der Fatherlund Sekuriti.

This is probably one of many bits of the Patriot Act that somehow makes us safer by allowing the federal government more access to our lives and our finances. The "Know Your Customer" bill and the Digital Telephony Act are another example of this kind of crap.

Speaking as a member of the evil empire, all banks are the devil.

It makes them cry that I don't have my AmEx anymore.... let them weep.

Maybe that'll wake up 0.0000000000000001% of the flagwavers.

*sigh*

Oh, but if they wanted to SPEND $6500 on their JC Penny card I'm pretty sure no flags would go up on that one... afterall, bomb making materials are pretty cheap.

Wow. I just paid off my credit card using my line of credit cause the credit line has a lower interest rate. Oddly enough, my credit card company hasn't called to demand why. I'd be appalled if they did.

If I were to give them the benefit of the doubt, I would imagine it has something to do with preventing money laundering. But that's a lot of stretching, and still says nothing about whether or not it's right.

I believe that it was, but rather than a $10,000 deposit, you deposit random amounts of funds in smaller quantities. Not hard to game this system if you just break up the chunks. Overall, it's an artifact of the war on drugs which is the right leg of the goose that is the Federal goverment. War on Guns being the left leg.
