You know what is truly sad?

In the last 3 weeks, my net pay totals to more than my gross for the last FOUR MONTHS the Cont was open.

What's truly sad is it took you so long to move...

Gainful employment is fulfilling when you start getting those regular and not so skinny checks isn't it?

I know. I know.

It was a combination of things that kept me there.

My overdeveloped (and in many cases misplaced as things come to light) sense of Loyalty. Both to the Cont and to certain people who I really didn't want to leave high and dry.

My lack of funds in general. (- I was literally living hand to mouth for years. -) Hell, the donations you all gave were the only things that gave me enough to even move my stuff instead of simply putting almost everything in a storage unit and HOPING to go back and get it one day.

Not really wanting to move anywhere without a job AND roof over my head waiting for me.
(- Again that has something to do with my loyalty. My loyalty to my cats in this regard. THose two furbearing couchvultures are the ONLY thing that kept me sane when the psycho bitch ex and I split up. I could never give them up unless I knew it was to people who were going to love them as much or more than I do. Hell, if I didn't have them. I'd have just done what I did when I moved to Buffalo. Pack a dufflebag. Hop on a bus and hope there's crashspace when I get to the other end of the ticket. -)

I really like Buffalo. I hate New York State in general. But I really like Buffalo. If the senecas do open a casino in Buffalo proper in the near future, I'd be tempted to move back if I was offered a job.

And frankly? Fear ... Yes I admit it. Fear of change. I was in a not quite comfortable, but survivable, rut. It literally took the place I've been working since 98 to shut down before I would move. It's the place I've lived the longest since I was 16. The only other place that come close is South Korea. HELL, I lived in Buffalo longer than I was in the military!

Hmmm... you're not the only person ever caught in that trap, and you made the best of it. At least now you're better situated for the future.

Somehow, that doesn't suprise me.
